Beware, Washing Machines Can Make Flu Transmitted

Having a washing machine makes it easier to wash clothes. We also no longer need to spend enough time and energy to do it. Unfortunately, behind the convenience offered by the washing machine, health experts say if the washing machine can spread the flu to all residents of the house. How did this happen?

Health experts from the University of Arizona, United States named Kelly Reynolds, said that without us knowing, clothes used by those who have the flu also contain dozens of flu viruses. In fact, feces from flu sufferers themselves have millions of these viruses. The problem is, we only need to be exposed to one hundred flu viruses to get the disease. In fact, in the underwear we put in the washing machine, at least we could find 0.1 gram of residue of impurities. Because it is mixed with all the clothes in the washing machine, the flu virus from the underwear will certainly spread quickly.

In his research, Reynolds revealed that 90 percent of clothing mixed with underwear in a washing machine would be exposed to the flu virus. Even though we've used hot temperatures, detergents, or even deodorizers, this flu virus can still spread and can make us catch the flu if we wear clothes that have been exposed to the virus.

Many detergents claim to be able to kill bacteria, even though, in reality detergent only locks bacteria and odors so that in fact there are still quite a lot of bacteria and viruses on the clothes.

To ensure this flu virus does not cause health problems, Reynolds advises us to dry clothes with high temperatures for at least 28 minutes. Considering the process of drying clothes in the washing machine will usually not reach that long, it helps us keep drying clothes in hot sun for at least one hour so that the various viruses that cause the flu can die.
